Absolutely love these guys. The flat (1a gibson place) was clean, easy to get to and an amazing location. Well appointed with amazing local toiletries (which you can buy just up the road) and very easy/clear checkout instructions. We even locked ourselves out and they responded near instantly. Can't recommend them enough!

Communication was great leading up to our stay, Achanair cottage was excellent, clean, and everything you need for a 5 night stay. The location is perfect a 5 minute walk to South Street and the center of town with all its restaurants and pubs, altogether the perfect place to stay when in St Andrews.

My husband, daughter and I recently stayed at Square Green (No 14). This is a bright, spacious apartment overlooking the bowling green, exactly as depicted in the photographs. Spotless throughout, with well-equipped kitchen and comfortable beds and having the private parking space is a bonus. The location is excellent - a 10 minute walk up to the town centre. We would definitely plan to stay here next time we are in St Andrews.

About our self catering accommodation in St Andrews

Features of our properties

From stylish one-bedroom holiday flats for a romantic weekend to spacious houses for family gatherings, our collection of self catering accommodation in St Andrews suits every type of trip. Many of our properties include modern kitchens, private parking, outdoor seating areas, and fast Wi-Fi, ideal whether you’re here for a short break or a longer holiday.

Every listing shows room layouts, amenities, and clear photos. What you book is what you meet when you unlock the door.

Filter by size or feature to find your ideal property. Cosy one‑bed hideaways for two, with a wood burner, bright family houses with enclosed gardens, ideal for dog friendly stays and even modern beach apartments with floor‑to‑ceiling glass, perfect for watching the beautiful St Andrews sunset.

Kitchens and dining rooms with a seat for everyone

The best group homes give everyone somewhere to gather around the same table. Across the collection, you will find large dining rooms, farmhouse kitchens, open-plan spaces and full kitchens equipped for a longer stay.

Selected country houses add an Aga, a barbecue area and outdoor dining, while central homes provide a strong base for evenings out followed by drinks or supper back at the house. The kitchen is not tucked into a corner as an afterthought. It forms part of the space where the group spends time together.

More than one room to gather

A group of ten or 16 will not spend every hour doing the same thing. Several of our larger homes include more than one living area, giving part of the group somewhere to talk while others watch television, read or claim the quieter room.

Features across selected properties include large sitting rooms, family lounges, wood-burning stoves, open fires and separate snugs. One larger estate adds a detached games room with a bar, pool table and and darts, giving the group another place to gather without taking over the main living room.

Gardens, patios and room to take the gathering outside

Private gardens, patios and outdoor dining areas extend the space beyond the house. Selected properties include barbecue areas, garden furniture, countryside views and fenced gardens for dog-friendly stays.

Central homes can still offer private patios or gardens within walking distance of town. Farther out, you will find extensive grounds, paddock views and enough room around the property to enjoy the quieter side of St Andrews.

Parking for several cars and all the luggage that follows

Selected country homes provide private parking for four to six vehicles, while other properties include driveways, garage parking or secure spaces.

Washing machines and dryers are also available across many homes, alongside entrance halls, utility areas or garage storage for golf bags, outdoor clothing and everything that does not need to follow you into the living room.

Planning a group stay in St Andrews

Choose town or countryside around the trip

Stay centrally if your group wants to walk to restaurants, university buildings, the Old Course and the town centre. Properties around St Mary’s Place, Lade Braes and the western side of town keep much of St Andrews within easy reach, with selected homes close enough to the Old Course for the golf group to walk to the first tee.

A country home outside town gives you larger gardens, more parking and fewer immediate neighbours. Kincaple and the countryside surrounding St Andrews remain close enough for days in town while giving families and groups more space around the house.

Plan cars, taxis and your first food shop

Country properties often provide parking for several vehicles, making them a strong choice when the group plans to explore Fife or play golf courses outside St Andrews.

Central groups may need fewer cars once they arrive, but restaurant taxis, minibus transfers and larger vehicles for golf clubs should be arranged early during busy weekends. Fife Council operates several public car parks in St Andrews, including Argyle Street, Bruce Embankment, Murray Place, Petheram Bridge, St Mary’s Place and Woodburn Place.

For larger food orders, booking a supermarket delivery to arrive after the group has access to the house can save several cars making the same trip. Leave enough time between arrival and delivery in case anyone is delayed on the journey.

For a full food shop, Morrisons is at 45 Largo Road and M&S Foodhall is at 23 Largo Road. Aldi is on Tom Stewart Lane. These stores sit close enough together to make the eastern side of town convenient for longer self-catering stays.

In the centre, Fisher & Donaldson has bakeries on Church Street and South Street. Jannettas is at 31 to 33 South Street, great if you like Gelato and sorbet, and Balgove Larder sits just outside St Andrews for local meat, bakery products, fruit, vegetables, deli food and ready meals.

Book larger homes before the dates become fixed

Large homes have fewer direct alternatives than apartments for two or four people. If you need eight bedrooms, several bathrooms, parking and a central address, book once the main dates are agreed rather than waiting for every part of the itinerary to be confirmed.

Winter graduation takes place on 1 and 2 December 2026, with summer graduation during the week beginning 28 June 2027. The Open follows from 11 to 18 July 2027, creating exceptional demand from late June through the middle of July. Large central homes and properties suited to golf groups will be among the earliest accommodation to fill.

Outside major events, booking two to three months ahead gives you a stronger choice for spring and summer. Last-minute gaps can still appear between longer reservations, particularly when your group can adjust its arrival day or length of stay.
