These terms apply to Short Stay Family gift vouchers bought on or after 1 November 2026, from shortstaystandrews.co.uk, eastfifeholidayhomes.co.uk or by phone. Vouchers bought earlier through Gifted keep the terms in force when they were bought.
1. Who we are
Vouchers are sold and honoured by Short Stay St Andrews (trading as Short Stay Family and East Fife Holiday Homes), 195 South Street, St Andrews KY16 9EE. Phone 01334 845 845, email reservations@shortstay.family. Payments are processed securely by Stripe; we never see or store card details.
2. Buying a voucher
- Vouchers are digital. Each one has a unique code (SSF-XXXX-XXXX) and is sent as an e-card by email to the recipient on the date you choose, or straight away if you don’t choose one. You also get a copy.
- Vouchers are available from £50. A service charge (shown before you pay) is added to cover card processing.
- Your order is confirmed when payment succeeds and we email you. We may cancel an order and refund it in full if we suspect fraud or misuse of payment details.
- Please check the recipient’s email address. If an e-card goes astray, contact us and we will resend it or send it to a corrected address.
3. Using a voucher
- A voucher can be used towards any stay in a Short Stay St Andrews or East Fife Holiday Homes property booked directly with us, by phone, email or our websites. It can’t be used for stays booked through other websites such as Airbnb, Booking.com or Vrbo, or towards a security deposit.
- Quote the code when you book, or add it to the booking notes. We take the voucher’s value off the booking. If the stay costs more, you pay the difference; if it costs less, the rest stays on the code to use later.
- Bookings are subject to availability and to our booking terms and conditions. We recommend booking early, especially for holidays and golf events.
- If a booking paid with a voucher is cancelled, any amount due back under our booking terms is returned to the voucher, not paid in cash.
4. How long it lasts
- A voucher is valid for 12 months from the date it was bought. The expiry date is on the e-card. The stay must be booked before the voucher expires; the stay itself can be after that date.
- Any balance left when a voucher expires is lost and can’t be refunded. If you can’t use a voucher in time, contact us before it expires: we may extend it, at our discretion.
5. Changing your mind
- You can cancel a voucher within 14 days of buying it, as long as none of it has been used. Contact us by phone or email and we will refund the full amount, including the service charge, to the card you paid with within 14 days.
- Using any part of the voucher within the 14 days ends the right to cancel.
- After 14 days vouchers can’t be refunded or exchanged for cash. This doesn’t affect your statutory rights.
6. Looking after the code
- Treat the code like cash: anyone who has it can use the balance. We are not responsible for use by someone else if the code has been shared, but tell us straight away if you think it has been misused and we will do what we can.
- A voucher can be given to someone else as a gift. It must not be sold, auctioned or copied, and we may cancel vouchers that have been resold, altered or obtained fraudulently.
7. Our responsibility
We are responsible for the stays vouchers are used for, under our booking terms. If we can’t honour a valid voucher, we will refund its unused balance. Nothing in these terms limits our liability where the law does not allow it, or affects your statutory rights.
8. Your information
We use the names, email addresses and message you give us to send the voucher, honour it, answer questions and send reminders before it expires. We only send marketing if you ask us to. See our privacy policy.
9. Changes and the law
We may update these terms. Changes don’t apply to vouchers already bought: the version in force when you bought yours is the one that applies. These terms are governed by the law of the part of the United Kingdom where you live, and you can bring proceedings in the courts there.
Last updated 1 November 2026.
