About our Holiday apartments in st andrews
Features of our holiday flats
Our apartments cover far more than couples’ weekends. Choose a compact two-bedroom flat, a three-bedroom stay near the Old Course, a four-bedroom penthouse or a five-bedroom apartment sleeping up to ten.
Larger properties offer several bathrooms, full dining spaces and enough seating for everyone to spend time together. Selected apartments also offer flexible king or twin beds, making them better suited to golf groups, families and friends sharing.
Light-filled rooms, period buildings and St Andrews views
The collection includes apartments in traditional town buildings, contemporary developments and spacious penthouses. Large picture windows bring in views across St Andrews and the surrounding countryside, while selected properties add high ceilings, private entrances and rooms spread across more than one floor. Some are bright and modern. Others have the proportions and character that come with older St Andrews buildings. There is enough variety to choose a place that suits the tone of the stay rather than settling for a standard holiday flat.
Parking, gardens and features that are hard to find centrally
Central St Andrews parking is available at selected apartments, including private spaces, secure garaging and developments with EV charging. Other stays sit close to free or long-stay parking. You will also find apartments with private gardens, outdoor furniture and direct access to the Lade Braes, alongside properties with washing facilities, private entrances and several bathrooms. These are meaningful differences when comparing places in the same part of town.
Town centre convenience
If you want to be close to the centre, properties such as Bridge Street Apartment, Melbourne Place and Alexandra Penthouse put you in strong positions for town, restaurants, university visits and golf.
Characterful apartments
Across our holiday apartment collection you will find bay windows, fireplaces, high ceilings, original details and views over town streets, rooftops or the coast. Selected apartments add balconies, small gardens and outdoor seating. The result is a choice of genuinely different places rather than rows of near-identical holiday flats.
Help to plan your apartment stay in St Andrews
Choosing your location
- For the Old Course, focus on apartments around the Scores, Golf Place, Murray Park and the western end of North Street. These areas also put you close to West Sands and the St Andrews Links courses.
- North Street is a useful starting point for graduation stays because ceremonies take place at Younger Hall. Apartments around North Street, Market Street, South Street and Abbey Street also put many university buildings within walking distance.
- The Scores and western side of town are best placed for West Sands. For East Sands, the harbour, cathedral and castle, look towards Abbey Street, the eastern end of South Street and the streets around Woodburn Place.
- The historic centre is compact enough to cover on foot. The University’s central walking route takes about 30 minutes and passes through the main university quarter, while its longer route adds North Haugh and the pier.
- Apartments around Kinnessburn, Lade Braes, Pipeland Road and Largo Road sit away from the busiest central streets while keeping St Andrews close. These areas also suit anyone bringing a car or planning a longer stay. Morrisons and M&S Foodhall are both on Largo Road, with Aldi nearby on Tom Stewart Lane, so the main supermarkets are easier to reach than they are from the historic centre.
Parking in St Andrews
Selected apartments include allocated or private parking. Where they do not, several public car parks provide dependable alternatives. Petheram Bridge has 300 free spaces near North Haugh and provides straightforward access to the town centre. Murray Place has 40 free spaces and is useful for the Old Course side of town. Woodburn Place has 30 free spaces near East Sands. Argyle Street North and South are paid long-stay car parks near the bus station and town centre. Bruce Embankment is convenient for the Old Course and West Sands, with seasonal charges from 1 April to 30 September. St Mary’s Place provides paid short-stay parking in the centre.
Arriving without a car
Leuchars is the nearest railway station. Regular number 99 buses connect Leuchars with St Andrews, and taxis cover the journey in around ten minutes. Most bus services arrive at St Andrews bus station in the centre of town.
Food shops, bakeries and easy first-night options
For a full food shop, Morrisons is at 45 Largo Road and M&S Foodhall is at 23 Largo Road. Aldi is on Tom Stewart Lane. These stores sit close enough together to make the eastern side of town convenient for longer self-catering stays. In the centre, Fisher & Donaldson has bakeries on Church Street and South Street. Jannettas is at 31 to 33 South Street, and Balgove Larder sits just outside St Andrews for local meat, bakery products, fruit, vegetables, deli food and ready meals. For meals out, Forgan’s is a central option built around Scottish produce, The Adamson serves seasonal food on South Street, and Hams Hame sits beside the Old Course on Golf Place.
Dates to book early for
St Andrews apartments fill fastest around university ceremonies, major golf dates, summer weekends, Christmas and New Year.
- Winter graduation takes place on 1 and 2 December 2026. The 2027 summer ceremonies run from 28 June to 2 July 2027. Families needing several bedrooms, parking or a central location should book well ahead of these dates.
- The Open returns to St Andrews from 11 to 18 July 2027. With graduation ending nine days before Championship week begins, expect demand from late June through mid-July 2027 to be far higher than during a normal summer. Accommodation for The Open should be secured as early as possible rather than treated as a standard two or three-month booking.
- For other summer stays, booking two to three months ahead gives you a stronger choice of location, parking and bedroom setup. Flexible travellers can also find shorter gaps and late availability between existing bookings, particularly outside major university and golf dates.
